Awatere River stopover

Beside the river, open air solar showers, just the local farmers for traffic - peace at last after the bustle of North Island morons, the ferry, and tourists packing out Blenheim.

A short break before going into the Molesworth Road, relaxed here for 4 days.

That satellite dish is invaluable

In the middle of nowhere - no power, no phones, no radio, no tv. Just wind it up, and you have contact with the outside world. The latest world news, and weather for the next 3 days - to see whether we stay or move on.

"Pure Hell"

Waking up to this is just bliss. Peaceful, serene, tranquil, right on some of the South Island's best coastline. Away from the crowds, over rough and dusty roads, these fantastic spots greet you. We intend to stay one day, we don't leave for three.

Get out and about . . .
